About US

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

Who We Are:

The spread of evangelical thought in Egypt began with the arrival of American missionaries in 1854, leading to the emergence of Presbyterian churches. By 2024, there were approximately 450 churches and preaching centers, including 100 new churches established in the last fifteen years. The Pastoral, Outreach, and Mission Council is one of the councils of the Evangelical Synod of the Nile "the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Egypt.
Council Vision
"The word of the Lord extends to all corners of Egypt, the Arab world, and the entire world."
Council Mission
"To work on the extension of the local church to reach Arabic speakers from surrounding countries, whether residing in Egypt or abroad."

The council specializes in the following areas:

Evangelical Aspect

The council is responsible for developing evangelical plans, training preachers, establishing services in new urban areas, founding new churches, appointing missionary pastors, and supporting spiritual revivals in local churches with ideas and materials.

Additionally, the council adopts new areas to establish churches and follows up on the establishment of services for refugees from various countries residing in Egypt.

Pastoral Aspect

The council's pastoral responsibilities include

  • Encouraging churches to grow and increase membership.
  • Encouraging church councils to adopt evangelical areas spiritually, financially, and administratively.

Missionary Aspect

  • The council works in missionary fields inside and outside Egypt by sending missionaries and servants to places needing pastors, clergy, and laypeople, either to shepherd existing churches or establish new ones.
  • Connecting diaspora churches with the Presbyterian Church in Egypt by following up on spiritual services and opening partnership opportunities between churches and Synod institutions.
  • The council monitors evangelical entities abroad by sending pastors, organizing churches there, ordaining, and appointing pastors through various councils within Egypt and in coordination with councils outside Egypt.
  • Increasing awareness of missionary work within the Synod's scope.
  • Organizing work outside the country and partnerships related to missionary work as necessary.
